Schorem Haarsnijder en Barbier is a unique shop where a man can take the time to unwind amongst his peers. The shop is decorated like a real old barbershop and the barbers look like scumbags with beards, curly moustaches and tattoos on their arms. Another typical detail: women are not allowed to enter the shop!

It’s a guy thing…

Ladies, stop reading and men quickly start, because I think you might really like this shop! Let’s do the woman do some shopping at the many shops on the Nieuwe Binnenweg and you men, take some time to relax and get shaved at this beautiful barbershop.

Rockabilly

When you enter the barbershop it feels like stepping back in time. The small room is full of authentic Art-Deco furnishings like antique tables and chairs. The cabinets are full of brushes, sissors, creams, hairspray and much more jars. The barbers himself look like they are from another decade too and they only talk about (which as I have heard, because obliviously as a woman I was not allowed to enter the shop) things that truly matters: cars and hot girls. Leen and Bertus, the owners of the barbershop, but also the other employees, are reviving the time-honered craft of barbering. Most man that goes to this shop, like to get shaved or cut like the old fashioned way, like the rockabillies. It’s a unique shop and definitely worth visiting. It’s not necessary to make an appointment you can just walk in. So go on and see it yourself, gentlemen…

Opening hours:
Tuesday from Friday 11.00 – 18.00
Sunday from 09.00 – 18.00

I work in communications and have kept an on-line fashion journal for years. I'll show you around Rotterdam, my home town, a magical place open on the world. Sparkling restaurants, deliciously hidden between sea and sky. My little extra: globetrotter and multi-lingual
