When you’re visiting Rotterdam you should also visit Delfshaven, a place at Rotterdam West. This is a typical Dutch neighbourhood with historical buildings and a small harbour. There are several nice café’s too. From Rotterdam central station it’s easy to reach Delfshaven by Subway. In front of the Subway at Delfshaven you will find this cute little ecological food shop called An-Dijvie. If you like, make a quick stop at this shop to buy some healthy snacks and drinks. The owners of An-dijvie know Delfshaven quite good so they can also advice you where to go.

Eat yourself pretty, slim and happy

Last year I read a book called ‘Eat yourself pretty, slim and happy’. Wow, who doesn’t want to be pretty, slim and happ? Well I do. Since I read this book about ecological food from Amber Albarda I was looking out for a good nature food store. Unfortunately we don’t have that many nature food stores in Rotterdam. Then I found this shop called An-dijve. They sell a variety of very varied products. You can buy greenery, fruits, many different juices, dairy products and all sorts of cereals. The owners of this place are very nice and helpful. They own this shop for 25 years now. That’s quite a long time especially considering the growth of large supermarkets in this neighbourhood. Ecological food is much more expensive than food from the normal supermarkets. But hey, our health has no price, right?

Delfshaven, a multicultural neighbourhood

Everyone from Delfshaven knows An-Dijvie and their owners. Residents from Delfshaven are very multicultural. That’s why all kind of people from different cultures visit the shop. Each of them buys their own things. Hindus especially buy plant products and Yugoslavian people buy mostly herbs. It’s a well known shop at Delfshaven and that’s why I think it’s nice to visit this shop even if you’re not found of ecological food.
