Midnight swim in ParisParis
18 rue de Pontoise
+ 33 (0) 155427788
Situated near the boulevard Saint-Germain, a fashion hotspot, the Pontoise swimming pool is the ideal sport to relax after a day of shopping. After dark, the vast hall is illuminated solely by the underwater lights in the pool, plunging the space into semi-darkness. This is the setting for an evening’s swim to music!
A contemporary pool in a Thirties decor
Built in 1934, the Pontoise pool is one of the architectural jewels of the Thirties. Its retro character is ensured by the larger metal-ribbed glass roof, individual changing rooms in blue and white arranged on two levels all around the pool, mosaics in the entry hall, its sheer size (pool measures 33 x 15 metres), and an attendant who opens your changing room for you! It’s a legendary place that has been used as backdrop for many films (particularly Kieslowski’s film Bleu). But times change… the pool has since been equipped with a diving board, a countercurrent swimming system, a sauna and a squash court.
After nightfall, the Art deco pool fully comes into its own. Subdued lighting, soft music and the lapping water accompany the swimmers. The more ambitious among them can loosen up with the sauna and the cardio-training and weight room. And now quick, before the clock strikes 12 midnight, change out of your bathing suit, throw on your glass slippers and get yourself home to bed!

Mother, bohemian and Parisian, I love Paris' cosmopolitan side and warmth. Exhibitions, walks, outings with the children...I'll take you on a discovery of the most welcoming places in Paris. My little extra: with my love of food as my compass, I always set course for the best lemon tarts in the city.
