In the small world of socks, Tabio makes an impression with nearly 300 styles on display in a former horse butcher’s shop which is now a listed historic monument. This winter, a host of coloured socks will be strutting their stuff.
Think socks aren’t glamorous?
Have a look around Tabio’s! Leg-warmers, tights, socks, leggings, ‘toe-covers’, ‘footsies’ (shoe liners), or ‘tabi’ (toe socks), the collections are made in Japan using all sorts of materials (cotton, silk, angora, merino wool, cashmere….) and every imaginable colour!
This winter, the sports range will glue you in your trainers! Reinforced stitching at the heel and ankle enables your foot to breath and lets you run comfortably and safely. For around town there are warm, two-tone or spotty tights, fur legwarmers, or lacy evening tights and footsies...The OTKs (over the knee socks) with elastic which doesn’t cut in to your leg deserve a special mention.
For men, Tabio ups the ante by offering more than just white for sport and black for town!
A brand which makes a difference
A world away from supermarket socks, sold in packs of three, Tabio is in a different league. Their designs are made using traditional Japanese techniques. There’s also an embroidery service allowing you to personalise your socks. Prices start at 3 euros.
Mother, bohemian and Parisian, I love Paris' cosmopolitan side and warmth. Exhibitions, walks, outings with the children...I'll take you on a discovery of the most welcoming places in Paris. My little extra: with my love of food as my compass, I always set course for the best lemon tarts in the city.
