That’s it, summer's here! To wake up my taste buds, I go for the lemon tart. I must admit, it’s my weakness, whatever the season. However, now’s the time to tell you about THE best place to try it…

With or without topping

Before, the question automatically arose: with or without topping? Nowadays, to avoid looking ridiculous, it no longer comes disguised as a wedding dress. No more lemon meringue tarts! Purism's the thing, and the meringue has been replaced with a glaze…

Tested and approved

One beautiful summer afternoon, I took 6 lemon tartlets home with me. To avoid being caught out scoffing the lot on my own, I called on some friends to help me out with a blind tasting. The results? Unanimous! You can head straight for Carl Marletti, in the 5th arrondissement without looking elsewhere. His tart is no frills, with a crunchy pastry just as it should be, and an incredibly smooth filling tasting of fresh lemon juice.

Marletti, the best value for money

Carl Marletti is one of the new patisserie superstars who have managed to dethrone the (too?) classic Parisian patisseries. In his shop with its minimal décor, you will find a succession of colourful pastries and cakes that will excite even the most insensitive taste buds. His lemon tart is the best value for money in Paris!

Open from Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10 am to 8 pm.
Sundays until 1.30 pm

Brigitte, 39 MOTHER

Mother, bohemian and Parisian, I love Paris' cosmopolitan side and warmth. Exhibitions, walks, outings with the children...I'll take you on a discovery of the most welcoming places in Paris. My little extra: with my love of food as my compass, I always set course for the best lemon tarts in the city.
