It's a Carnival mustAs soon as you arrive in Cologne, you'll be plunged into the heart of the biggest event of the year: Carnival. The "Alte Wartesaal" can hold up to 1,000 people in its two beautiful rooms (560 and 210 m²). The restaurant, bar, and discotheque make it unique in Cologne, the party place par excellence and a monument of tradition. Known throughout the region, it's one of the only places that stays open all night non-stop: PROST and Kölle Alaaf!!
The old lady saved by love"Cologne central station" was built between 1857 and 1859 and a huge waiting room was built to separate first class and second class. In the 1920s, His Majesty Wilhelm II turned it into a trendy tea room and restaurant. The station was planned for demolition in the 1980s, but two lovers turned it (with a million marks) into a superb monument to Art Deco. It quickly became popular for all kinds of events year round. It hosts most of the Carnival and its partiers from November through February with a festive and slightly off-the-wall programme of events. Go directly to the train station, you can't miss it.
The Cologne area provides my daughters and I with real quality of life. I like conviviality, healthy things, crafts and every kind of creativity. Together, we'll explore the side of Cologne that promotes the art of living. My little extra: the art of living.
