LE PARC DES ETANGS MELLAERTS
Le parc des Etangs Mellaerts
Avenue de Tervueren
A rich history
The Mellaerts lakes are named after François Mellaerts, who bought various areas of pasture and farm land in 1883. In 1898, when Avenue de Tervueren was built, he was bestowed another area with two lakes in exchange for his property. This was the start of a long love affair between the people of Brussels and the Parc des Etangs Mellaerts.
Fishing and boating
Now over a hundred years old, the park has managed to retain its attraction for the public and is now divided into two parts: one has a fishing lake and one has a lake for other leisure activities, which is the perfect solution. What I like doing as a way of relaxing is walking around the park and watching people enjoying the boating and the pedalos. The simple pleasures of life.
I work as a fashion consultant, tear through the papers every morning, race off to concerts whenever I can and claim ""belgitude"" as a guarantee of original quality! My little extra: new shops, trendy concept-stores, organic restaurants and artists' workshops.
