Zavelenberg is located in Berchem-Sainte-Agathe - at the doors of metropolitan Brussels. It illustrates a particular type of public space: a retro rural landscape structured with hedges, fences and clusters of trees. The landscape is surprising when seen from the broad Avenue Charles-Quint.

A spread of green

Zavelenberg is more than just a green hill. It's also a fragment of country in the city. I like to go there as often as possible to get some fresh air and rediscover strong, authentic roots. I have to admit that I also have a certain weakness for the cows that live peacefully in the pastures of Zavelenberg castle farm.

A protected area

Brussels Environment - whose job it is to improve the living space of Brussels residents - tends to ferociously protect the rural aspects of this type of place. This explains why some areas - like Zavelenberg hill - are private. However, the authorities recently opened paths that follow the edge of former pastures and run alongside the villages and the hill. They provide fans of nature with a great view of the entire site.

My fashion job takes me around the world throughout the year. I love flea markets and hunting for antiques year round, meeting up with friends at art show openings, going to fashion shows and being first to discover a new restaurant.
My little extra: introducing people to the "arty" and underground side of Brussels!"
