PLACE DU JEU DE BALLE
Time out for a strollBrussels
Place du Jeu de Balle
The Place du Jeu de Balle is a great weekend destination, with a flea market and an abundance of crafts and antiques. When the summer season of second-hand goods trade is over, this is an ideal spot to relax and stroll about alone or with friends.
The Marolles district was not always fashionable. A few years ago it was quite dangerous and didn't receive many visitors, but it was recently cleaned up and now has a cosmopolitan and international feel to it. Rue Blaes is a must for its selection of old furniture and vintage clothing. It's best to come early, around 8 am or 9 am, if you want to avoid the late morning rush.
Rest & relaxation
I like to sit in one of the small cafes on the square and have a beer* on Sunday afternoons. It's easy to while away the hours without getting bored. There's always a relaxed atmosphere and the district is typical of Brussels. The market is open every morning for intrepid bric-a-brac enthusiasts.

My fashion job takes me around the world throughout the year. I love flea markets and hunting for antiques year round, meeting up with friends at art show openings, going to fashion shows and being first to discover a new restaurant.
My little extra: introducing people to the "arty" and underground side of Brussels!"
