The perfect location

In a quiet area, but just five minutes from the main tourist attractions, Cake under my pillow, in the working-class area of De Pijp, has three prettily-decorated bedrooms with a shared sitting room and kitchen. Located above the famous cake shop De taart van m'n tante (my aunt’s cake), which is decorated in a manner akin to the homes of Pippi Longstocking or of Barbie, this B&B provides you with a really warm atmosphere. It also offers unlimited internet access and a breakfast to die for (eaten in the cake shop).

Total simplicity

Here, you’ll be served openly and generously. If you’re hungry, you’re invited to just help yourself! In the kitchen you’ll find bread, cereals, cheese and cold meats. You can come and go as you please and the owner will be happy to negotiate a discount with his neighbour, who hires out bikes. The only drawbacks are that the bedrooms don’t all have their own bathrooms and you have to go up two flights of stairs to get to them. But it’s absolutely worth the effort.

Laurence, 46 a cool mum

I’m the mother of two supercharged children. I’ve also been living a great love affair with Holland for the past 20 years! I’ll take you to places in Amsterdam that will make you feel good, where the products and the welcome are high quality and where, most importantly, you’ll never stress out. Ready to go?
