Or the art of unusual shoppingAmsterdam
Now that everything is available on the Internet and there really isn't any need to go into town to go shopping, the trend is for unusual shops where supplies are constantly changing. Hutspot is that kind of shop.
Always great finds
Hutspot is a friendly shop. It's a bit of a catchall that can be a little confusing at first, but it will put a little smile on your face by the time you leave. You can come often without ever getting bored. It's never the same twice! Every brand "authorised" by the three happy owners (Pieter, Nick and Reinier, average age 25) has its own island in the shop. Sales are tallied after a month. Did the product sell well? Let’s continue to work together. A flop? Let’s stop now and give another brand a chance (that is, an island).
Only the dog isn't for sale!
The "collection", if you can call it that, consists of clothing, jewellery, home accessories, wines and a wide range of other items. Everything is for sale at Hutspot. From the lamps hanging from the ceiling to the paintings on the walls, including the gadgets on the shelves, the green workbench where the till is (was?) sitting and the Vespa 90cc in the entranceway.
Everything except Gumbo the friendly master of the premises. If the profusion of objects makes your head spin, catch your breath with a ristretto and a cupcake in the cafeteria.
I’m the mother of two supercharged children. I’ve also been living a great love affair with Holland for the past 20 years! I’ll take you to places in Amsterdam that will make you feel good, where the products and the welcome are high quality and where, most importantly, you’ll never stress out. Ready to go?
