Hollowed out by the Ardèche River, a small tributary of the Rhône, the famous Gorges de l'Ardèche were formed through millions of years of erosion of the limestone floor of the Vivarais.

It is an extraordinary natural location, where you can see rocks that have been carved out by the water, as well as caves, canyons and the magnificent Pont d'Arc, which is a natural archway, 66 metres in height, beneath which the river has dug a passage to the Rhône.

And for thrill seekers, there are no fewer than 25 rapids to negotiate by canoe or by kayak!
