A rock-strewn desert
With its 1,912 metre summit, Mont Ventoux is known as “The Giant”. It's the highest point in Provence and has UNESCO status as a biosphere reserve. From here, you can look out over the Rhône valley, the Baronnies and the Vaucluse plain.
If you’re feeling brave you can climb or cycle to the top of it but you can also get there by car. From this mountain stripped by the winds, you can enjoy views over the surrounding region, Avignon and even Marseille.
