Voorlopig is a bit hidden on the Nieuwe Binnenweg. But do not oversee this lovely shop, because here you will find the most unique gifts for friends, family or yourself of course. Owner Lenie Arntzen also sells special items made by herself in her studio in the back garden of the shop.

Lovely notebooks

It’s a small but cosy shop. Wooden racks along the wall are used for all kinds of little frills. From cups and saucers, small paintings, poetry pictures, stamps, maps, vases and toys. But what you'll find mostly – the reason why I as a writer occasionally pop in – are the lovely notebooks and draft booklets in all shapes and sizes. Voorlopig also has lots of special books for children and adults with nice funny stories or poems. Oh and don’t forget to dig into the card catalogue on the wall.

Treasure hunting

Every time I enter the shop it feels like a kind of treasure hunting. When walking several times through the store you will find more and more new fun things. It’s a jumble of stuff, so take your time to find the perfect gift. I know it’s in there somewhere.

I work in communications and have kept an on-line fashion journal for years. I'll show you around Rotterdam, my home town, a magical place open on the world. Sparkling restaurants, deliciously hidden between sea and sky. My little extra: globetrotter and multi-lingual
