This little restaurant is tucked away in a dead-end street in the shadows of the National Museum of Modern Art. It’s appealing, despite being located in a tourist area on the edge of the Marais, thanks to its excellent food and because it’s very charming and quiet, even on the terrace.

Le Hangar

I've been happily stopping by for the past 15 years to have a Beef Stroganoff or sautéed foie gras. The atmosphere is welcoming and the service always friendly. The little terrace is very nice in the summer time. When you’re going to Beaubourg, the best thing you can do is to make a reservation here. You'll get a simple, unpretentious welcome. The team knows how to fade away so you can enjoy what counts: healthy food, good wine, and a setting that's perfect for relaxing and having a great conversation with friends.

Things are happening in Impasse Berthaud

The short dead-end street sits at an angle and is nearly invisible. It's located between the Musée de la Poupée and the back of the mythical Café de la Gare which witnessed the early theatre days of the greatest French actors and comics of the '70s. That's the reason why Le Hangar remained a hidden destination for years. This summer, though, Paris city hall will be inaugurating the entrance to the 1100m² Anne Frank Garden at the end of the dead-end street. Work has finally been completed after several years of renovations. Let's hope that Le Hangar's team can resist the hordes of famished tourists! Opening hours: Friday hours from noon to 11 pm
Steve, 49 ENTREPRENEUR

Comfortable in working-class neighbourhoods and the tonier areas of Paris, I never get tired of rediscovering this timeless city. The Sex Pistols set the pace when I was younger. New technologies fill my working days now. My little extra: discovering fine eating spots around the capital for romantic dinners!
