In summer I do my lazing around locally! Just down the road from me, the church square attracts hookah smokers*, the boho-chic set sipping an aperitif, lovers of good food and birds.

A holiday atmosphere

In the cobbled place Maurice Chevalier with its Wallace fountain, you will find lovers smooching and the scents of hookahs in the air*. When it’s too hot, head for the shade of the chestnut trees. For the athletically inclined, there are 54 steps leading up to the church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Croix!

La dolce vita Paris style

On café terraces people meet friends, neighbours and relatives, amidst scents and colours. They sip a mint tea in l’Emir tea room, or quench their thirst with a beer** on the coloured seats at La Pétanque. Fancy a Danish pastry? The boulangerie on the corner of the rue Julien Lacroix wins no prizes for looks, however it offers an authentic slice of Paris life, an immersion into French culture.

A boho-chic restaurant

Head for La Bouche for something to eat! There’s a young team, relaxed service, antique-style decor and rather creative cuisine: endive velouté with beer, scorpion fish roulade with pistou, white chocolate soup with lemon tree leaves to dip your fruit kebab in. The prices are reasonable (starter/main/dessert €28) and the atmosphere is friendly. The terrace is super: decorated in yellow, blue and red, a riot of colour which in no way spoils your appetite.

Brigitte, 39 MOTHER

Mother, bohemian and Parisian, I love Paris' cosmopolitan side and warmth. Exhibitions, walks, outings with the children...I'll take you on a discovery of the most welcoming places in Paris. My little extra: with my love of food as my compass, I always set course for the best lemon tarts in the city.
