LE BISTRO DES DAMES
Au bonheur des Dames* [‘The ladies’ delight’]Paris
Le Bistro des Dames
8 rue des Dames
Also a delight for the men! This hidden address in the 17th arrondissement serves beautifully put together bistro dishes, in a small exotic garden, under the attentive gaze of the birds perched in the palm trees.
This is treasure-trove of a hôtel-bistrot: a fashionable cuisine bristling with seasonal produce, with a small garden courtyard concealed at the back, a heated veranda if the weather is inclement, and a good value hotel in an ideal location. Until 7.30pm it’s a place to meet for a pre-dinner drink over a plate tapas or cured ham and sausage. Then the little bar transforms into a restaurant with traditional dishes on the menu and a suggestion du jour on the board. There is no booking and you just have to arrive early or wait in the bar until a table becomes available.
A secret garden
Cross the restaurant room, in front of the kitchen, go down the stone steps, through the attractive winter garden and you will find yourself facing an adorable paved courtyard. A veritable haven of peace hidden right in the middle of the urban jungle, shielded from view.
An adjoining hotel
For those of you passing through Paris, there is also a hotel: l’Eldorado, with double rooms from 60 euros. At this price one cannot expect 4* luxury, but it is absolutely charming and very close to Montmartre and Pigalle… ideal for a taste of real Paris!

Métro: Place de Clichy
Mother, bohemian and Parisian, I love Paris' cosmopolitan side and warmth. Exhibitions, walks, outings with the children...I'll take you on a discovery of the most welcoming places in Paris. My little extra: with my love of food as my compass, I always set course for the best lemon tarts in the city.
