Polka Galerie is totally dedicated to photojournalism. It features the work of photographers with a discriminating eye and brings together art, journalism and politics. Exhibitions echo Polka Magazine, the bi-monthly Parisians fight over.

The world in pictures

Polka is a family affair for the Genestars. Alain, a newspaper owner and journalist, gave his children Adélie and Edouard a taste for culture. This led to the gallery which is closely tied to the eponymous magazine and the PolkaLive Internet site.

Their mission? Pictures that tell a story with a social or political impact. The gallery represents both politically committed French and foreign artists. Fashion icons, events, neighbourhoods...every photograph makes viewers think a little deeper about society.

Photophile Paris

Paris witnessed the birth of the eighth art in the 19th century and is still the nerve centre of photography: museums put out the red carpet for photographers, galleries fight over emerging talents, the public rushes to exhibitions and the Paris Photo show in November can’t be missed…

Brigitte, 39 MOTHER

Mother, bohemian and Parisian, I love Paris' cosmopolitan side and warmth. Exhibitions, walks, outings with the children...I'll take you on a discovery of the most welcoming places in Paris. My little extra: with my love of food as my compass, I always set course for the best lemon tarts in the city.
