This designer hotel is very close to Cologne cathedral. Inside, the aesthetics are unusual, and quite unlike what you’d expect these days. Daniela and Gisela Ragge have furnished every room with a great deal of taste and care; none is like the next. Here’s a quick look at them:
Where should we start? Paris? New York? Or perhaps even Venice? At the Savoy, guests can choose their room design from the wide variety of themes available, and everyone will find something to suit them. For those seeking opulence, I would recommend a night in “New York”, with its elegance and high-tech chic. Or you could be tempted by the oriental charm of the “Taj Mahal”, which, as well as the fine materials used, has a two-person balneo bath. And it has to be said that even the “Standard” rooms are much more interesting than their name would suggest.
At the Savoy, my favourite place is the lounge with its fireplace. When you’ve been outside, where everything’s dark and covered by a carpet of snow, there’s nothing like a hot chocolate with a nice layer of cream and a good book, with the flames in the glass hearth dancing before you, to allow you to immerse yourself in the story. And if you want, you can use the hotel spa before or afterwards. The Rhassoul bath, which is steeped in tradition, is divided into four stages to provide the very best possible when it comes to wellness. With its friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere, the Savoy gets it just right.
I've always loved Cologne. The city is industrial and romantic at the same time. I love my city for its galleries, classical concerts and elegant restaurants and its traditional and very trendy bars! My little extra: I love words, the arts and literature!
