The first Miffy shop in Germany has been open for nearly a year, right in the heart of the Belgischen Viertel (Belgian quarter). Everyone can find something to please their children here, but also, one way or the other, the child that is dormant in each of us. A compulsory visit in any case for all those who love the little rabbit that is the logo of this shop.

Welcome to the world of Miffy

Miffy, better known in many countries by the name of Nijntje, first appeared on the scene in 1955, when the Dutch author and artist Dick Bruna started to tell his son a story about a little rabbit to send him to sleep. Since then, the highly stylised silhouettes of the little rabbit and its friends have appeared in over 100 books, in short films, and on countless merchandising goods. At the Miffy shop, the range extends from toys to books to DVDs and tee-shirts, but also furniture, posters, cuddly toys, and many more items. Something for everyone.

Miffy? Absolutley!

Frankly I had completely forgotten about Miffy until a few weeks ago, when I happened upon the shop window while out walking. Just eyeballing Miffy herself was enough for a whole wave of images to submerge me spontaneously, particularly some memories of kindergarten, where I really loved those books by Dick Bruna. And once inside the shop, I was surprised to come across not just the raft of images that I was so fond of, so much so that I asked for a gift package to be made up for my little cousin, but also a series of particularly amusing objects that could have been made just for me. There is no doubt: Miffy still works her magic!

I've always loved Cologne. The city is industrial and romantic at the same time. I love my city for its galleries, classical concerts and elegant restaurants and its traditional and very trendy bars! My little extra: I love words, the arts and literature!
