THE COLOGNE TRIANGLE
A impressive symbol of the cityCologne
The Cologne Triangle has been the second-highest skyscraper in the city since construction was completed in 2005. Its name refers to its shape, which looks like a triangle with arched sides. The real attraction is the panoramic terrace. That's where you get the best view of the cathedral.
There's no other view like it.
The Cologne Triangle Panorama is the name of the platform that welcomes visitors at over 100 m of altitude. The terrace provides a spectacular 360° view of the cathedral and the city centre, the Rhine and the surrounding area. From this angle your pictures will take your breath away. This architectural jewel is easily accessible by foot from the "Köln Messe/Deutz". You can also get there just as easily on foot from the central train station following a pleasant route that crosses Hohenzollern Bridge with its many "love padlocks".
Duly rewarded architecture
The Cologne Triangle is representative of a type of modern architecture that is both grandiose and totally luminous. The building won the 2006 Architectural Innovation Award in the Synthesis – Architect and Industry category for its mono-glass facade. In addition to many offices, the Triangle also houses some very renowned restaurants. L’Orange is a café, bistro and restaurant where menus change every week. At Mongo's, you can eat dishes worthy of Gengis Khan. The name is a reference to Mongolian barbeque, an Asian cooking technique that will satisfy the most demanding gourmet.
I've always loved Cologne. The city is industrial and romantic at the same time. I love my city for its galleries, classical concerts and elegant restaurants and its traditional and very trendy bars! My little extra: I love words, the arts and literature!
