In the springtime, the Gut Clarenhof farm gives strawberry fans an opportunity to pick their own! It’s a fun and tasty bowl of fresh air for young and old.

The call of the fields

Nothing like a visit to the Gut Clarenhof farm for a little spring break in the country. This organic farm is located in Frechen, a half-hour from Cologne by public transport. It opens its vegetable, fruit and flower fields to city residents who want to learn about the joys of picking, or who just want to fill up their basket.

Nibble as you go

Amateur pickers can fill up a bucket with the seasonal produce of their choice. Most visitors can't resist the appeal of strawberries in the springtime (nibbling is allowed; you have to pay for the contents of the bucket) and you can also pick tulips or sunflowers. If you have a little less energy, you can also buy farm products without having to bend down.
Coralie, 31 JOURNALIST BY DAY

I'm a translator and editor for several publications and I love the hidden side of the city, its secret gardens, its discrete gourmet restaurants and its new, high-design spots. Outings with my friends end late at night. My little extra: a dynamic, fun and really trendy Cologne!
