Due to work on the high-speed line in The Netherlands, trains will not stop at the Schiphol station.

The Schiphol station can only be reached by local trains departing from Rotterdam. To reach Paris, Brussels or Antwerp, you must purchase a ticket from Rotterdam. Print then your travel confirmation to travel free between Rotterdam and Schiphol. This will be your ticket.

The Cologne electro music scene loves expansive venues. It has discreetly (or nearly) invited itself to a new post-industrial setting whose confidentiality is very appreciated by patrons in the know.

The little "Papierfabrik"

Heinz Gaul, the latest in trendy venues, has taken the baton from the Papierfabrik, the previous "off" electro temple. A former paper mill taken over by DJs and VJs, the immense space with bare walls brought together a diverse audience of clubbers who were left directionless after its demolition in 2011. Heinz Gaul has remained faithful to the tradition and taken up residence in an empty steel mill close by where it hosts evenings that aren't actually all that underground.

Nag

While the "nag" (literal translation of "Gaul") is one of those confidential or at least unofficial places, the programme of events is less so. Heinz Gaul doesn't host artistic or experimental performances, but rather well-established events like Indie Fresse (which means both "indie face" and "in your face") a rendezvous for alternative pop-rock fans, the "rien ne va plus" series (rap & funk) and the classic "Silberschwein" (electro music). Heinz Gaul is open to all kinds of sounds and always unleashes passions.

Coralie, 31 JOURNALIST BY DAY

I'm a translator and editor for several publications and I love the hidden side of the city, its secret gardens, its discrete gourmet restaurants and its new, high-design spots. Outings with my friends end late at night. My little extra: a dynamic, fun and really trendy Cologne!
