Rue du Trône
Fixing it yourself, priceless
Why throw away what you can fix? On rue du Trône, on the south side of Brussels, people whose weekend hobby is fixing things meet during the week, once a month. Seated at tables with professionals, it suddenly becomes child’s play to replace a part in an electric appliance or toy. All the tools and most commonly required materials are available on-site. After just a few minutes, the fixing session is already over. Sometimes it’s just a small matter to fix something, which produces a big smile on the faces of the participants, delighted and proud of their success. I’d almost want to break something just so I can go back again!
Any object, big or small
Anything you can think of, bring it along : your torn jeans, a shoe missing and heel, or your coffeemaker! And who knows you may just come home with a virtually new appliance… Or what about a restored bicycle? Because in addition to the repair service, Repair Café also offers various secondhand items. After all, you can’t help but applaud the work of these engaging volunteers who created the Repair Café project in September 2012.
To find out where the next Repair Café will be held, please see the calendar on: http://www.repaircafe.be/fr/
I'm mad about food. I'm a Brussels native by adoption and I started a fun and girly cooking blog. I decrypt all of the new trends that will eventually show up in your plate! My little extra: surprising culinary discoveries I share with you with great zest and appetite.
