It’s hard to resist the flavours at Gaudron, Place Brugmann. It serves as both a deli and a restaurant, but is above all somewhere to rediscover the multi-faceted art of tasting. A legendary must-see!
Pleasure best shared
It was my partner Caroline who first introduced me to Gaudron. She runs an art gallery nearby and seemed surprised that I didn’t know the place. We entered the tea-room and I immediately sensed that the ambience was different. The food was healthy, balanced and no-nonsense. I sampled a fantastically fresh orange juice and devoured a raspberry tartlet. A foodie’s paradise!
Brunching in Brussels
Gaudron is closed in the evenings so must be experienced during the day. My top tip is the brunch menu on weekends. A variety of house treats are on offer: pancakes and maple syrup, toasted bread with organic jam, or mixed salads for those who prefer savoury. Gaudron also sells bread and makes birthday cakes to order.
As soon as a ray of sun appears, the terrace at Gaudron is overrun. It is perfectly located and enjoys celestial calm and guaranteed sunshine. It’s best to book ahead to avoid disappointment.
Monday to Sunday 7 am to 8 pm.
My fashion job takes me around the world throughout the year. I love flea markets and hunting for antiques year round, meeting up with friends at art show openings, going to fashion shows and being first to discover a new restaurant.
My little extra: introducing people to the "arty" and underground side of Brussels!"
