There was a time when De Roma was the largest cinema in Belgium. In the 1970s, this darkened room was transformed into a concert hall famous for pop-rock artists but was later left to fall into decay.
In 2002, a group of volunteers decided to bring the venue back to life.
In May 2003, the large scale works were completed giving way to a renovated building. Today the rich and varied programme means regulars can enjoy a bit of rhythm in their lives. The performances flow on from one another but aren't samey. There is a unique shared feature: a particularly friendly vibe, a diverse crowd - in short it's a real winner.
The line-up for this summer includes numerous concerts, theatrical productions and films. Be sure to visit their website to stay up-to-date with what's going on when you're in Antwerp.
Born in Africa, I've lived between Europe, the United States and my homeland. A real mix of cultures! I'm always connected to social networks and on the lookout for great fashion, lifestyle, music and outing deals. I work in Antwerp as a public relations manager. I'm also a presenter for a TV music channel. My little extra: I like to get out and meet people.
