Due to work on the high-speed line in The Netherlands, trains will not stop at the Schiphol station.

The Schiphol station can only be reached by local trains departing from Rotterdam. To reach Paris, Brussels or Antwerp, you must purchase a ticket from Rotterdam. Print then your travel confirmation to travel free between Rotterdam and Schiphol. This will be your ticket.

A public park with 47 hectares of land, opened in the 19th century, Vondelpark is my favourite place for long walks at the weekend. I like its timeless and really relaxed atmosphere, just a stone’s throw from the centre of Amsterdam.

Absolute silence

Amsterdam is a city that can seem noisy and cramped, which sometimes gives the impression that everyone is crammed in on top of each other. So I take every opportunity to enjoy green spaces and Vondelpark is the one for which I have the greatest affection. I can spend hours admiring "The Fish", the sculpture/statue by Pablo Picasso which dates from 1965. I also like to have a coffee in the Vertigo, the bar in the Film Museum.

An open air theatre

From the beginning of June to the end of August, Vondelpark is home to an open air theatre where all kinds of shows are staged. Cabaret, pop, classical music and musical comedies are all part of the programme. Although these shows are free of charge, you are invited to make a contribution of a token one euro, which helps the city to continue the renovation of the park.

An impressive number of visitors

Each year, Vondelpark receives over 10 million visitors, with peak use in the summer. The best thing is to go there early in the morning and set off again at the beginning of the afternoon.

Open every day, entry free of charge.

I love Amsterdam's open spirit. It's easy to meet people and have rich, interesting conversations. The heart of the city is bubbling over with cultural initiatives, secret restaurants and nature routes that relax you in no time. I want to share it all with you!
