The areas surrounding sport stadiums are rarely known for their art. In Amsterdam, the area around the ArenA stadium, HQ of the famous Ajax football club, has a few surprises in store for the fans of Street Art.

Colourful images and iconic characters

This fairly charmless area is the preferred stomping grounds of the Kamp Seedorf collective. They are a talented group of graffiti artists who happen to be football fans and they express their love of the game via large format graffiti painted in primary colours.

The images represent iconic football players, past and present. As is more and more common, the collective's work has already been absorbed by the art world and the Go Gallery of Amsterdam featured it in an exhibition last September.

Resist to better create

The city's cleaning services remove the colourful characters on the walls on a regular basis, but the artists persist and if you look around, you can always find new, open-air creations. The collective also has a website where you can go for the latest news and the locations of new paintings.

I love Amsterdam's open spirit. It's easy to meet people and have rich, interesting conversations. The heart of the city is bubbling over with cultural initiatives, secret restaurants and nature routes that relax you in no time. I want to share it all with you!
