A palace for felinesThe Katten Kabinet is located in the chic and elegant Herengracht neighbourhood. The museum is in a luxurious 17th century building consisting of five different rooms, all charming and refined. I love the 1750 dance hall with its chandeliers and crystal appliqués and the music room with its piano with a walnut tail. Lovers of specialized literature can consult books on cats in the library, which is totally dedicated to them.
Learn everything there is to know about catsWith its amazing collection of paintings, sculptures and other art works, the Katten Kabinet offers an incredible vision of the feline world. I'm always amazed by the cat mummy from Bubastis in Egypt. Many artists have been inspired by cats: Rembrandt, Monet and Picasso are all here. Open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, weekends from noon to 5:00 pm and holidays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Closed December 25, 26, 31, January 1 and April 30.
I love Amsterdam's open spirit. It's easy to meet people and have rich, interesting conversations. The heart of the city is bubbling over with cultural initiatives, secret restaurants and nature routes that relax you in no time. I want to share it all with you!
