Located to the northwest of Westerpark, Woeste Westen (literally: "Wild West") is an outdoor playground where children four to thirteen are allowed to do whatever they want...even, and especially, get dirty.

Total freedom

The place doesn't look that big at first glance. But there are three hectares of canals, little islands and fields for young adventurers. They can run until they're out of breath, test their balance on all kinds of bridges, sail on a raft or jump on tree trunks. In other words, pretend to be Indiana Jones in the great outdoors. If your child is the shy kind, they can also make things out of wood and rope, look at insects and tadpoles with a magnifying glass or pick flowers. The point is to let their imagination run free!

Activities all year round

Woeste Westen is open regardless of the weather, because weather doesn't matter to real adventurers. The staff will suggest different activities depending on the season. It may be building something, cooking or art. By the entrance, just next to the main building (where you can eat, go to the toilet and even borrow dry clothes if you fall in the water) is a camp fire that's kept burning at all times. It's the starting point for every adventure and their epilogue. What's more fun than sitting around a fire telling each other exciting stories? Open all year round Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Children four to seven must be with an adult. Woeste Westen is located along a bicycle path. The site is accessible by public transport and car (parking is available in the area).

I’ll take you to places in Amsterdam that will make you feel good, where the products and the welcome are high quality and where, most importantly, you’ll never stress out. Ready to go?
