Even if you don't need a ukulele – yes, you read that right – the Uke shop is bound to put you in a good mood!

If you want a ukulele, we’ve got it

At Uke, the walls are covered with miniature Hawaiian guitars, each with more sparkling colours and decoration than the next. A real ray of sunshine on a grey day. The non-stop island music nearly makes you want to slip into a pareo and take lessons with Candace and Neil, the friendly American owners of the shop. That's what I ended up doing. I don't know anything about guitars, but they managed to teach me the basics of the ukulele in barely an hour's time.

Treat yourself to a jam session

Did you know that there are as many ukuleles as there are types of opera voices, from the bass to the soprano? That's why you have to make a choice before you start thinking about the painted decoration of your instrument (done the way you want in the shop). You can trust Candace, she knows what she's doing. Her goal is to make Amsterdam the nerve centre for all ukulele lovers around the world. She organizes jam sessions to which passing tourists are invited. One of them, George Harrison, even took the opportunity to leave a little message. According to the former Beatle, "Everybody should have and play a uke" because "it is one instrument you can't play and not laugh!"
Laurence, 46 a cool mum

I’m the mother of two supercharged children. I’ve also been living a great love affair with Holland for the past 20 years! I’ll take you to places in Amsterdam that will make you feel good, where the products and the welcome are high quality and where, most importantly, you’ll never stress out. Ready to go?
