Navigate at your leisure, with family or friends, through the Amsterdam canals - it's actually possible! With Boaty, you are captain of your cruise and that's what makes it unforgettable.

Captain for a day

No need for a navigational permit to hire a boat, nor any special skills to take the helm. It's a doddle. The very friendly manager, Jan Pieter Groeneveld, will explain how the electric motor operates (it's eco-friendly and quiet) on your aluminium launch, give you a few basic rules and you're off. Equipped with an illustrated and laminated (every eventuality considered!) map of Amsterdam on which there are details of several itineraries, as well as comfort breaks and recommendations for restaurants/picnic spots, and there you are - captain of your vessel. The canals are all yours.

A unique experience

While my little 3-year-old monster, who donned a life jacket provided by Boaty, examined the foam cushion on which he was sitting, my teenage daughter gazed longingly inside the houseboats. As for my husband and I, we were mesmerised by the magnificent residences alongside the canals. What a delight to stop and admire them. It makes a change from sightseeing boats! We discovered quiet unknown spots, strangely calm (it was Sunday morning) and exuding charm. Amsterdam revealed itself in a different light. Magical!

Open every day from 9 a.m. till sunset. Booking recommended, particularly on weekends and during school holidays. Rent for a morning, afternoon or evening (3-4 hour time-slots). Max. 6 people per boat.

Laurence, 46 a cool mum

I’m the mother of two supercharged children. I’ve also been living a great love affair with Holland for the past 20 years! I’ll take you to places in Amsterdam that will make you feel good, where the products and the welcome are high quality and where, most importantly, you’ll never stress out. Ready to go?
