City of contrasts
You probably all know the ski resort of Bourg-Saint- Maurice: Les Arcs.
Historically, the city was located on the Turin-Lyon axis in Roman times. It is near the Franco-Italian border and the Petit-Saint- Bernard pass. Skiers will have every reason to stop at Les Arcs, which has the fastest one- kilometer speed course in the world. Bourg-Saint- Maurice also hosts one of the most prestigious and challenging canoe-kayak slalom pools in the world.
From a culinary point of view, the specialties of the city are crozets (small square buckwheat pasta), polenta with fontina (Italian cheese), bugnes (fried doughnuts sprinkled with sugar) and farçon (dessert with bread dipped in milk, with raisins and saffron). Enough to satisfy your appetite before spending the day outdoors!
