The journey begins at the castle tower…
Our excursion begins at the old castle tower, along the Reinufer walk. The tower is a reminder of the old castle of the city of Düsseldorf, as a last relic. It is currently home to the museum of navigation. Sauntering along the promenade towards the Mediahafen, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the boats passing by and the Oberfasseler bank where you get absorbed by the busy environment. Just before the port, you will come across the Parliament and its beautiful architecture and just next to it, the television tower (Rheinturm), the symbol of Düsseldorf.
… to finish up at the main courtyard
With its exceptional buildings designed by the architect Frank Gehry and its numerous gourmet restaurants, the Mediahafen district attracts a good number of visitors. A little bridge makes it possible to access the Parliament bank and its small sandy beach, a truly peaceful spot for a break. To get to the other bank, it is necessary to cross the Rheinknie bridge.
The lush green banks of the Rhine offer an exceptional view of the city's skyscrapers. After an enjoyable stroll through nature, you reach the Theodor Heuss bridge, which leads straight to the sailing club. A visit to the museums located around the main courtyard will provide a wonderful end to this discovery-filled walk.
