Your plans have changed? Discover how you can edit or cancel your ticket!

The way in which you can edit your Thalys train tickets depends on how you originally bought your ticket. Did you buy your ticket on Thalys.com, by phone or from another dealer? 

Editing or cancelling your ticket needs to be done through the original dealer, this may have been Thalys or another dealer.

In this case, there are two possibilities to easily edit your online reservation: in your My Thalys World account or in the “Tickets” section.

Log in to your My Thalys World account and edit your reservation directly in your personal space.

You do not have an account on Thalys.com?

  • Go to the « TICKETS » section. 
  • Enter your file reference (PNR). You can find this on the confirmation e-mail for your original ticket. It consists of 6 capital letters.
  • Enter the buyer’s e-mail address and click on “SUBMIT”.
  • THALYS’ EXCHANGE AND CANCELLATION POLICY

To exchange or cancel your ticket, the flexibility conditions that were in force at the moment of your purchase need to be fulfilled. To know which after-sales conditions apply, you can check your ticket.

A free exchange is possible for all tickets that were bought at the “ticket is exchangeable and can be reimbursed without extra costs” fare. If the newly chosen fare is cheaper than your original fare, the difference will be reimbursed.

To exchange tickets that were bought at the “can be exchanged with extra costs” fare or if your exchange entails an upgrade, you will have to pay extra. You can pay the requested amount directly online through the different payment methods that are available (bank card, Sofort, Ideal, Giropay,…).

If you choose to cancel your ticket, you will receive a complete reimbursement for tickets that were bought at a 100% flexible fare. For every other fare, reimbursement will be only partial or there might not be a reimbursement, because deductions will be made.

To enjoy optimal after-sales conditions, edit your ticket before the departure date and hour. 
 

  • SPECIAL FARES

Some fares (groups, person in a wheelchair and companion, unaccompanied children between the ages of 4 and 14, Pass Eurail or InterRail passengers) cannot be edited online. If you have a special fare ticket or if you encounter a problem, please contact our Customer Service Center, available 7 days per week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.:

Edit your reservation by phone

To exchange or cancel your ticket, you just have to contact our Customer Service Center again. Our agents are available 7 days per week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.:

Your ticket will be edited per your request if your fare’s conditions allow it.

I BOUGHT MY TICKET WITH MY MILES

For tickets that were booked in Comfort and Premium class, you can ask for a cancellation and reimbursement in Miles until the hour of departure. Your Miles will be credited back to your personal My Thalys World account. You can then book a new ticket in Miles until 3 days before departure. 

Tickets that were booked in Standard class cannot be exchanged or reimbursed.

I BOUGHT MY TICKET WITH ANOTHER DEALER

To exchange your ticket or to cancel it and receive a reimbursement, you need to contact your original dealer. Whether you bought your ticket online on another dealer’s website, with a travel agency or on a price comparison website, by phone or in the station, Thalys will unfortunately not be able to edit your reservation. Our service also cannot exchange or cancel your ticket online or by phone. 

Go to the dealer’s website or verify your booking confirmation to know which steps to follow.

I WANT TO EDIT A TICKET BECAUSE OF A DISTURBED SITUATION

If your exchange or cancellation is made because of a disturbed situation, this needs to be done at the original selling point or, if you bought your ticket on Thalys.com, by phone with our Customer Service Center. 

Your original ticket’s tariff conditions can be modified in favour of the exceptional conditions, depending on the type of situation.

Careful, you will not be able to enjoy these exceptional conditions if you edit your ticket online and you need to do the exchange or cancellation by phone with our Customer Service Center, (price of a local call), available 7 days per week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.:
