You may cancel your ticket online using the thalys.com website: via your account or under the heading ‘MY TICKETS’ by entering your file number and the purchaser’s email address.

Be aware that cancellation possibilities and partial or total refund of the ticket depend on the after-sales conditions and the fares in force at the time of purchase.  

Optimum after-sales terms are obtained by cancelling your ticket prior to the initial date and time of departure of the journey.

Simply cancel your ticket online via thalysthecard.com using your account.

Cancelling a hard copy ticket

If you are already in possession of your ticket, have it with you for the following actions.

If you have already paid for your ticket but not yet collected it, you will have received (via email or telephone) a 6-letter booking reference which identifies your order. Make sure you have this 6-letter booking reference with you.

This situation may arise if you have bought your ticket via the Internet or by telephone and you selected the option ‘collect tickets from the station or an automatic ticket dispenser'.

How to cancel an NS Homeprint ticket bought via thalys.com

By telephone: call the NS International Service Center.

In stations, go to any international NS or SNCB station.

Cancelling a ticket bought through a travel agent

First, try to cancel by contacting the travel agent from whom you bought the ticket.

If you need to cancel the ticket outside the agent’s opening hours, here’s what to do:

  • By telephone:  call +49 6 21 37 90 91 44  (local rate)
  • In stations: go to any international SNCB station, NS, DB or SNCB station or any SNCF station or ticketing outlet.

First, your booking will be cancelled to freeze the after-sales terms associated with your fare.

Subsequently, you will need to deal with your travel agent to obtain any refund in line with the terms associated with the fare paid.
