Recently completed, De Rotterdam is the largest building in the Netherlands and the pride of the city. The building was designed by the celebrated Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, who has personal roots in the city on the Maas. The 150 meter tall building in steel and glass is located on the Kop van Zuid.

Flagship

If you're visiting the city on the Maas, then you won't want to miss this architectural wonder. Designed by Rem Koolhaas's architectural firm, OMA, De Rotterdam is made up of multiple towers reaching heights of nearly 150 meters. Each tower faces in a slightly different direction, which gives it a playful effect. The name of the building is in fact a reference to the flagship of the historic Holland-America Line.

Vertical city

De Rotterdam is also known as the vertical city, because the building combines multiple functions. You can live in it, work, shop, or dine, and it has a large parking garage. As a tourist, you can even spend the night there, because it also incorporates hotel: the Nhow hotel. This hotel has its own café, De Lobby, where anyone is welcome to stop for a drink. Highly recommended for the extraordinary view over the River Maas from the bar.
