THE SAINT OUEN FLEA MARKET
77 rue des Rosiers
Suburban renewal! One of the most promising transformations is taking place in Saint-Ouen. It hosts a flea market on weekends and has seen stores from the heart of the Marais district move in.
At the flea market: Saint-Ouen reborn
This near suburb of Paris was long a hangout for the "friends" of Arsène Lupin and Pablo Escobar. The flea market is always very lively on weekends. The rest of the week, the neighbourhoods continue to change and repopulate. They aren't quite bourgeois yet, but they are becoming healthier again.
The flea market is on the move!
The Saint-Ouen flea market is always reinventing itself. Habitat Vintage announced the opening of 400 m² a few months ago. The store has now finally opened to the public. It has all of Sir Conran's original and emblematic designs. The famous Parisian concept store L'Eclaireur is opening an exceptional showroom right across the street next door to a sublime curio shop.
If you need a bite to eat, you can go to Ma Cocotte, Philippe Starck's trendy restaurant. Continue your walk to Boulevard des Ecritures at 99 Rue des Rosiers. Lovers of antique writing instruments and display cases will be charmed: ink wells, pens, fountain pens, school supplies, school maps, old papers, charms and more will take you back to your school days!
Hours: weekends and public holidays only
Comfortable in working-class neighbourhoods and the tonier areas of Paris, I never get tired of rediscovering this timeless city. The Sex Pistols set the pace when I was younger. New technologies fill my working days now. My little extra: discovering fine eating spots around the capital for romantic dinners!
