Back to school means time to get back in shape! Not enchanted by the idea of a crowded gym? Here’s an idea: why not enjoy a peaceful workout, one that will make you feel good, without the pain!

To ease into the back-to-school season, head for the Buttes Chaumont and a relaxing session of Qigong. Every morning, at 9 am, the venerable Master Thoï teaches Qigong, THE therapeutic gym programme. The classes are free and take place outdoors with one hour devoted to balance, harmony and wellness. At the end you will feel fully refreshed and relaxed! Just thinking about it is soothing! For highly motivated students, Master Thoi Tin Cau offers a second class in Tai chi chuan from 10 to 11 am. Why not give it a try!

A Napoleonic setting

Romantic, dramatic and full of beautiful flowers, the Buttes Chaumont were designed and built during the rein of Napoleon III. Today they make up one of the largest public parks in Paris. This pearl from the Haussmann era offers a unique setting, with its hills, lake and waterfalls, creating the illusion of an endless landscape. A perfect place for resting on the grass, after your Qigong session!

Just below rue Botzaris, on the island near the Café Rosa Bonheur.

Brigitte, 39 MOTHER

Mother, bohemian and Parisian, I love Paris' cosmopolitan side and warmth. Exhibitions, walks, outings with the children...I'll take you on a discovery of the most welcoming places in Paris. My little extra: with my love of food as my compass, I always set course for the best lemon tarts in the city.
