Family-owned since 1931, the Berger camp site has been the largest camp site in Cologne since that time. Seven kilometres from the city centre, this is one of the most beautiful places in the surroundings of the Rhine town: the exclusive reign of nature and idyllic tranquillity.

Nature and nothing else

The third oldest in Germany, the Berger camp site has a long tradition. Its best asset is its location right on the banks of the Rhine, at the heart of a protected natural area. It is a pleasure to put up your tent in a perfectly maintained meadow, under hundred-year-old trees. The modern bathrooms are impeccable. And for those who, even on holiday, still want to cook their own food, there’s everything you need. Forgotten your tent? Or maybe you just don’t fancy camping? No problem: the hotel run by the Berger family is just across the way.

Family atmosphere

The Berger camp site is distinguished by this special family and personalised atmosphere. There is a children’s play area, a vast Biergarten for the adults, and not forgetting the cyber cafe. If you want to get moving, just borrow a bike on site. A short ride will get you right back into the action in the heart of the city. This means you have all the advantages of the big city at the same time as the advantages of staying in the middle of nature. A recommendation for anyone who wants to see the hidden side of Cologne: the hike which runs along the camp site and follows the river is really worth the trip.

I've always loved Cologne. The city is industrial and romantic at the same time. I love my city for its galleries, classical concerts and elegant restaurants and its traditional and very trendy bars! My little extra: I love words, the arts and literature!
