At the Euregiozoo in Aachen, you can experience over 250 types of animal from close up. In particular in the spring and summer months, the sweet animal offspring will melt hearts by the dozen. The petting zoo and playing areas guarantee an excellent excursion.

A mini break at the zoo

A visit to the Aachener Tierpark is like a mini break in the countryside. The family-friendly park lies in the idyllic location in the protected landscape area Drimborner Wäldchen. And there's plenty to discover here: the children's farm will enchant the little ones in the twinkle of an eye with its hens, guinea pigs and rabbits. You can pet the animals to your heart's content – just like at the petting zoo. The enchanting Pygmy goats will be delighted to see the food brought by the visitors through the entrance and will cheerfully lick it out of your hands. There's no better way to get to know the animal word than at play.

A playful way to discover the animal world

This spring, the cuddly serval offspring will be waiting to be marvelled at, just like the baby penguins. The waddling animals can be seen up close as they take a luxurious bath. The other public magnets include the cute meerkats, the coati, lynx and the birds of prey, which are free to fly around their vast aviary. If you're after something a little more technical, the energy park is the place to be. Everything here is about photovoltaics, solar power and wind energy. The individual topics are explained with illustrations and examples in nature.

I've always loved Cologne. The city is industrial and romantic at the same time. I love my city for its galleries, classical concerts and elegant restaurants and its traditional and very trendy bars! My little extra: I love words, the arts and literature!
