A place to exercise, meditate and partyCologne
A multi-faceted course
Joggers (and walkers) never get bored in the Rheinpark. Its course is studded with large green areas, hundred-year-old trees, flower beds and art installations (left over from the Floralies held by the city of Cologne in 1957) and a magnificent view on the cathedral and the old city on the other side of the Rhine. It's the perfect setting to work out and relax.
A convivial place
As soon as the sun sticks its nose out, the green spaces fill up with picnic blankets and ball games and barbecues are fired up on the tiny "beaches" on the banks of the Rhine, from noon until late in the night. Partiers go to the south or the north of the park; north for techno nights in the adjoining park and south to attend the "Tanzbrunnen" open air concerts or to relax on the artificial beaches of the "Rheinterassen". Did you say multi-purpose?
I'm a translator and editor for several publications and I love the hidden side of the city, its secret gardens, its discrete gourmet restaurants and its new, high-design spots. Outings with my friends end late at night. My little extra: a dynamic, fun and really trendy Cologne!
