An enthusiastic ambassador of Austrian gastronomy in Cologne, Gruber’s has built up a solid reputation for sophisticated dining and a summery terrace that cannot be ignored.

Tradition and innovation

Who knows what came over Mr Gruber, originally from Salzburg, when he had the idea to convert the people of Cologne to the joys of Austrian gastronomy? What is certain is that Gruber’s restaurant offers an authentic and sophisticated touch that the capital of the Rhineland could not do without. Well-accustomed to the classics of the genre (Escalope viennoise, Tafelspitz, Kaiserschmarrn), the chef, another Austrian, also expresses his creativity through his Mediterranean-inspired dishes.

For all seasons and occasions

Reinvented every day according to the seasons, the menu lends itself to all occasions, from meals out, to “business lunches”, to romantic dinners. Gourmets will also be tempted by house events, like the Austrian wine tasting or cookery courses offered several times a year. When summer comes, a magnificent terrace welcomes those lucky enough to have booked in advance. An escapade not to be missed!

Opening hours:
Monday to Friday 12:00-15:00 and from 18:00 (kitchen open until 21:30)
Saturday from 18:00 (kitchen open until 21:30)
Closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Coralie, 31 JOURNALIST BY DAY

I'm a translator and editor for several publications and I love the hidden side of the city, its secret gardens, its discrete gourmet restaurants and its new, high-design spots. Outings with my friends end late at night. My little extra: a dynamic, fun and really trendy Cologne!
