It takes courage to move in below a train station, but that is precisely what Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld (CBE) has done! The gamble has paid off: its eclectic music and unusual setting have won over a substantial clientele that come from Ehrenfeld and beyond.

On stage under the tracks

Before its first anniversary, beneath the platforms of Ehrenfeld station, the CBE has established itself as a choice destination for night owls in Cologne. It is now the preferred location for several musical events that fill the city's nightlife calendar. Evenings with Silberschwein (electro & drum’n’bass), Rien ne va plus (Hip Hop, Reggae & Electro) and Beatpacker live! (HipHop, Funk & Soul), which used to be movable feasts, now take place here. And the clientele has followed!

Did somebody say bingo?

The programme at the CBE unapologetically involves a bit of everything. They host concerts, DJs and nearly all musical styles imaginable, as well as record fairs, poetry slams, exhibitions and bingo nights. Yes, that's right: the charmingly old-fashioned game where the happy winner shouts out "Bingo". The CBE organises its own home-grown version, based on music and presented by enthusiastic MCs. The hotly contested prizes are provided by businesses and artists from the area, now buzzing with creativity. An event with a difference not to be missed!

Coralie, 31 JOURNALIST BY DAY

I'm a translator and editor for several publications and I love the hidden side of the city, its secret gardens, its discrete gourmet restaurants and its new, high-design spots. Outings with my friends end late at night. My little extra: a dynamic, fun and really trendy Cologne!
