This is the perfect spot to have that little glass of wine that you end up lingering over a bit longer than planned. It’s also a great cocktail bar for going out on a Saturday night. Le Petit Canon, in other words, is a bar that can adapt to your needs. What’s more, thanks to its seasonally renewed menu of snacks, that little glass of wine won’t have to feel too lonely on the table.

Rosé and rillettes, a slice of heaven

This bar, located at the corner of two streets, is my new headquarters. Every Tuesday, I meet my friends here for an after-work drink. On our table, you’ll find the amazing house rosé*, and for 2€, the price is more than reasonable for a wine of this quality. You’d be hard-pressed to find cheaper in the Flagey neighbourhood. To go with it, we order rillettes that we spread on the thick slices of country bread, and some green olives too, for a little nibble before dinnertime.

A dressed-down kind of place

Inside the small space of this bar, oversized photos blanket the walls. It’s a Saturday night and the bar is gradually starting to fill up. For people coming out of nearby restaurants who want to continue the evening: Le Petit Canon is the ideal location. On the menu is a fine selection of excellent wines by the glass, as well as fruity cocktails. On some nights, they get out the turntables and the DJ mixes live. That’s when things really start hopping. Tables are moved back to create a dancefloor. The atmosphere is low-key, it’s not about being seen but just having a good time. Mission accomplished. Open Mondays and Tuesdays from 16:00-23:00 and Wednesday to Saturday 16:00 – 00:00. * Alcohol abuse is harmful to health. Drink responsibly.
