I am an enthusiastic fan of La Maison du Miel (Anneessens district). This shop is full of health & wellness remedies that are 100% natural. At the end of each year I follow a honey-based treatment and rarely fall ill. Indeed, the winter months are the busiest for this long-established business, founded in 1887.

Honey from Brussels and beyond

For such a small surface area, the choice on offer at La Maison du Miel is truly impressive. You’ll find everything here, from sweets to beauty creams and from hydromel to royal jelly. Hugues is on hand to advise customers; I trust his judgement implicitly and it’s always a pleasure to speak to a real connoisseur.

A family affair

La Maison du Miel is above all a family affair, although it has changed location since it first opened its doors. The official royal purveyor relies on the quality of its products, each with its own use. The demand for small local producers increases each year, and we can encourage their growth through our purchases. By far the best-selling product here is the thyme-scented honey, renowned for the medicinal properties of the propolis it contains. La Maison du Miel also offers organic produce, available all year round.

Open Monday to Saturday from 9:30 am to 6 pm.

Philippe, 38 AESTHETE

My fashion job takes me around the world throughout the year. I love flea markets and hunting for antiques year round, meeting up with friends at art show openings, going to fashion shows and being first to discover a new restaurant.
My little extra: introducing people to the "arty" and underground side of Brussels!"
