The Dominican - located right in the centre of Brussels behind the Théâtre de la Monnaie - is an elegant and sophisticated address. The hotel boasts a wide range of rooms, as well as a private internal courtyard and a quiet lounge area. These elements come together to give the hotel a warm, hospitable and informal feel that I immediately liked.

Opulant style

As soon as you enter, it's the considerable proportions, high ceilings and charming internal courtyard that delight your eye, reminding us that the hotel was once a convent. The imposing oak floors and blue stone tiling create a gentle and reassuring harmony. Everything leads to the internal courtyard which is dotted with brightly coloured chairs. I can recommend the avocado mille-feuille or the lobster with dried tomatoes and apples, which demonstrate the culinary mastery of the chef.

Beautiful rooms

The Dominican has no fewer than 150 rooms. Each room has its own particular feel, thanks to the choice of fabrics and contemporary materials used in the decoration. The luxurious yet functional bathrooms are worth a special mention. I have a soft spot for the themed suites, from Opera which overlooks the theatre, to the David suite over two floors.

My fashion job takes me around the world throughout the year. I love flea markets and hunting for antiques year round, meeting up with friends at art show openings, going to fashion shows and being first to discover a new restaurant.
My little extra: introducing people to the "arty" and underground side of Brussels!"
