Whenever I start to feel out of shape in winter, I go to La Braise, one of the best restaurants I know to fill up on protein. Located in the commune of Saint-Gilles, it's warm and authentic, perfect for evenings with friends. Their speciality: all kinds of meat, especially grilled and served very rare.

Excellent meats grilled on an open fire.


La Braise serves excellent grilled meats in a cosy setting. You can eat them with French fries or tasty vegetables. I always make a reservation ahead of time because the restaurant isn't very big. The patrons are regulars, so the atmosphere is very friendly, especially during the week. I often go for a plain rib steak. They’re cooked just right and melt in your mouth!

La Braise's big selling point is its attentive and unpretentious service. You immediately feel right at home and nothing gets in the way of enjoying the food. The menu is simple, but of very high quality. It's home cooking, there for you every time you stop by. Which is why I like to linger...

Open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 2:30 pm and from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm; Saturday from 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm; closed on Monday and Sunday.
