Due to work on the high-speed line in The Netherlands, trains will not stop at the Schiphol station.

The Schiphol station can only be reached by local trains departing from Rotterdam. To reach Paris, Brussels or Antwerp, you must purchase a ticket from Rotterdam. Print then your travel confirmation to travel free between Rotterdam and Schiphol. This will be your ticket.

Hemgie's, near the historic heart of Brussels, and just a stone’s throw from Gare Centrale, only opened this year. After trotting the globe, the two co-owners decided to combine the flavours they had the opportunity to discover in their travels, much to the amazement and delight of the customers of their soothingly mellow restaurant.

Slow food and world flavours

Taking the time it takes, and always selecting quality ingredients, that is the key to Hemgie's. Choosing from the array of world foods that make up the menu, the chef sets out to invent combinations to ravish the taste buds. And it’s mission accomplished. The specialty of the house is none other than the hamburger, in a luxurious gastronomic version, that is. I recommend the Casanova, a succulent affair based on fois gras that positively melts in your mouth.

A little slice of the Big Apple

Dining in a lounge atmosphere - that could just as well be in Manhattan - remains a supreme pleasure. The comfortable and intimate setting of the restaurant comes with impeccable service that has earned them a loyal following of lovers of high-flying cuisine. Relaxation, enjoyment and tranquillity to exceed all expectations.

Practical info

My fashion job takes me around the world throughout the year. I love flea markets and hunting for antiques year round, meeting up with friends at art show openings, going to fashion shows and being first to discover a new restaurant.
My little extra: introducing people to the "arty" and underground side of Brussels!"
