A royal puppet theatreBrussels

An utterly charming little escape, the Théâtre Royal De Toone puts on puppet shows all year round. It's nostalgic childhood fun for all.
Kids and adults flock here in the evenings for a taste of the magic and poetry of puppetry. It's always such a joy for me to spend a few hours in this cosy, unique theatre. At Toone in Brussels it's not about improvisation and the puppet master takes his role very seriously, upholding a tradition that goes back to the early 19th century. The original Toone was born in 1804 and was named Antoine Genty. For over 45 years, he put on puppet shows in several theatres throughout the city. According to tradition, each 'Toone' must be officially inducted at City Hall by the Mayor and the city of Brussels.
Opera for marionettes and historical pageants
The Théâtre Royal De Toone offers varied and exciting programming, with true classics of the theatre that have been specially adapted, or operas accompanied by a pianist. I have a soft spot for 'La Révolution Belge' - a show that traces the tumultuous history of a country full of richness and contradiction.
My fashion job takes me around the world throughout the year. I love flea markets and hunting for antiques year round, meeting up with friends at art show openings, going to fashion shows and being first to discover a new restaurant.
My little extra: introducing people to the "arty" and underground side of Brussels!"
